Jessica and I drove down to Southern Pines, North Carolina for her best friend's husband's fortieth birthday party. We got to explore a little of downtown Pinehurst and Southern Pines (the U.S. Amateur was being held in Pinehurst that weekend, so we couldn't get to the most famous of all North Carolina's courses). I got to play a lovely round of golf, Jessica got recruited to help set up the surprise party and we both visited the Creation/Antique Tools/Taxidermy Museum. The few pictures are the consequence of my poor camera; it broke mid-trip; most of the party pictures came out to fuzzy to fix........

The outdoor cafe Jessica and I ate in Pinehurst. We had to cut the trip short (we were recruited to help deliver a mattress for some out of town guests).
The lovely Jessica at our lunch.
Jessica at the Southern Pines train stop. It seems North Carolinians are very keen on rail travel.
The entrance to the Creation Museum. It also doubles as a religous book store and fudge shop.
The entrance to the creation/tools/taxidermy exhibit.
Though the sign said creation display, it was difficult to understand where the multiple themes of the museum began or ended.

This was what was in the case below the sign.
I still cannot understand why this was in a case of oversized bugs and stuffed animals.
